Child I Teens I Parents

Psychotherapy can help your child or teen develop healthier ways to express thoughts and emotions. I take a holistic approach, seeking to understand your child’s unique personality, strengths, and needs within the context of their developmental stage. I value and respect all family structures, and I partner closely with you, drawing on your insights as a parent, to guide the therapeutic process. Together, we can help your child gain self-understanding, strengthen relationships, and build a confident, resilient sense of self.

Along with a Master's in Marriage & Family Therapy from Mercy College, I also completed advanced postgraduate training in Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy at IPTAR (Institute for Psychoanalytic Training and Research). I help treat behavioral challenges at home and/or school, anxiety, trouble with separation, and depression.

                Play Therapy

It is in playing and only in playing that the individual child or adult is able to be creative and to use the whole personality, and it is only in being creative that the individual discovers the self.”
― Donald Woods Winnicott

In Play Therapy, play becomes the child’s natural language, and toys are their words. This evidence-based approach allows children to symbolically express feelings, explore their inner world, and process experiences in a way that feels safe and engaging. Through activities like drawing, building, and imaginative play, children develop a better understanding of themselves and learn to put into words what they once could only act out. Play also fosters a sense of mastery, builds confidence, and strengthens self-esteem
